Amazon.com Director Herbert Ross (The Turning Point) pulled a winning movie out of this almost self-consciously archetypal tale of teenage rock rebellion. Kevin Bacon stars as a hip city kid who ends up in a Bible-belt town after his parents divorce. An ill fit for a conservative community where rock is frowned upon and dancing is forbidden, Bacon's character rallies the kids and takes on the establishment. Between a good cast really embracing the drama of Dean Pitchford's screenplay, and Ross's imaginative, highly charged way of shooting the dance numbers, you can get lost in this all-ages confection, and you won't even mind Kenny Loggins's bubbly pop. Bonuses include one of John Lithgow's best performances (a bit reminiscent of Jimmy Stewart), and Christopher Penn (who sure doesn't look the same anymore) as a good-natured hick who learns to boogie. --Tom Keogh
Product Description Footloose jumps with spirit dazzling dance numbers and an electrifying musical score. It portrays the timeless struggle between innocent pleasure and rigid morality when city-boy Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon) finds himself in an uptight Midwestern town where dancing has been banned. Ren revolts with best friend Willard (Chris Penn) and the minister's daughter (Lori Singer). A treasury of Top 10 songs-Kenny Loggins "Footloose" Shalamar "Dancing In The Sheets" Deniece Williams "Let's Hear It For The Boy" Bonnie Tyler "Holding Out for A Hero" and the Footloose love theme "Almost Paradise."System Requirements:Running Time: 107 minutesFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: DRAMA/CULTURE CLASH Rating: PG UPC: 097361379647 Manufacturer No: 137964

Footloose January 12, 2010 Arnita D. Brown (USA) When a city kid is forced to move to a conservative midwestern town, his tastes in rock music and his gyrating dance moves turn his high school upside-down and send the town and it's local preacher into a frenzy. This movie is a 1980's classic I think, where you can relax and watch a movie that is about good fun and great music. Kevin Bacon is great. The choreography iconic and the music symbolises a generation. A very entertaining movie.
Footloose December 11, 2009 David T. Melnick (Tallahassee, FL, USA) Thanx for the timely delivery of 1984's Footloose. I luv this movie; specially, having 6 of the top 10 songs at once. Last time that happened.

YES September 22, 2009 Holly Thompson (America) I bought this for my mom along with the Cd after we saw the Broadway production. She had never seen the film - I know OMG .. so got her this and she loves it. It's alot of fun to re-watch it again and if you loved it growing up, it's perfect for your DVD collection and you can find good sellers who have it for a couple dollars.
