Amazon.com There are unmistakable pleasures to an old-fashioned Western, and Crossfire Trail has 'em. Tom Selleck has a lean, weathered face that sits nicely atop a horse and beneath a broad-brimmed hat; he plays a canny cowboy who's come to make good on a promise to a dying man and ends up caught between a beautiful woman (Virginia Madsen) and a wicked man in black--a couple of them, actually. Crossfire Trail has just about every element you could ask for (a Sioux war party, a cruel hired gun, a shootout in the street, even a cattle stampede), but it spins them out with such clean efficiency that you can't help but enjoy it. Directed skillfully and with heart, Crossfire Trail will satisfy any Western fan. Based on the novel by Louis L'Amour; also featuring Wilford Brimley and Mark Harmon. --Bret Fetzer

GREAT story and personal character ..... October 28, 2009 Seth C. Howard (Apalachin,ny) This is probably Tom's best work . For most , the story is slow , HOWEVER , is perfect as is . GREAT family and personal "MAN VALUES" . Scenery like John wayne movies and similar to "Chisum" , my favorite Wayne movie . FAR BEYOND Tom's "Quigley , down under" work , excellent in cowboy tradition .
Rooting for the good guy is obviously built in story . Family can watch and all enjoy . Joanna Miles is a vision and leaves one thinking age doesn't change beauty ; maybe that's because her 'take-action' character is sexy to most men .
Panoramic views add to the NEED for slower story development . LOTS of "shoot 'em up" at the end . UNLIKE most movies , Rafe Covington is main character , however , story line is written so NO ONE could be left out and seems as though each has a prominent scene at some point .
enjoie , pops howard , apalachin , new yuck
Wonderful Western September 12, 2009 Steven Hensley (Mid - Atlantic) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is A Tom Selleck great , and for the time that it came to Television was great because Wsterns of this kind have long been Forgotten.
An under-rated Western June 14, 2009 J. D. Best, author (Arizona) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
My favorite Tom Selleck Western is Quigley Down Under, but Crossfire Trail--a made for cable movie--is a solid Western. Selleck is very believable as a Westerner and looks more natural on a horse than in a Hawaiian shirt. All of the cast in this Louis L'Amour story is great, but Wilford Brimley does an exceptionally fine job.
The climatic gunfight on horseback in and around buildings was fun, but when will silver screen cowboys learn to hide behind something more substantial than a wagon or swinging barroom doors.
Great Western, great suprise June 14, 2009 Marcia Pask (Calgary,AB,Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Cheap price and a good western. Some suspense, nothing my grandchildren couldn't watch with me. I was delighted. Hurray Tom Selleck I hope you make more westerns, I think I've bought them all.

When I originally received this product it was damaged and after 3 emails I finally heard back from the seller with a return address. I returned it on Apr. 9th and as yet I have heard nothing from the seller who was supposed to send me a new DVD.
