Animated Comedy June 15, 2009 D. Hand Sequels usually aren't as good as the original, but in this case I enjoyed Open Season 2 more than Open Season. Truely hillarious with the addition of Mr. Weenie and the other dogs.
Nap time June 10, 2009 Rene S. Hoepelman Jr. (Cary, NC) Not as good as the first one and not nearly up to par with any of the other current or past pixar films. Looks more like a cartoon then animation. Poorly written I dont even know what the story line is about....it just drags on and on and on. None of the original actors returned from the first one which I was not aware of till I popped this in the DVD. Excellent movie to take a nap too but thats about it.
Booooooog is sorry, throw-up... June 6, 2009 Luc Belec (Florida) I love anime, especially the computer generated one. The quality of the details, the pictures is unbelievable. Especially when it's coming from Dream work / Pixar. The first was hilarious, funny, interesting and very lovable. This one didn't have-it to me. There're no if, but or what, the quality is there but the story is, well, interesting, I did want more Boog and Elliot not this French up-tight "poodle". I did have a very high hope and end up at the end of the movie, disappointed. I did pre-order it in blue ray thinking of getting another good classic with unbelievable quality, good personages, humors and much more. Even the humor was not the same kind. To me it's like a different compositor who writes the story and develops the new personages. The taste and the flavors are gone...
Better Than Open Season 1 May 21, 2009 David B. Gardner (Brighton, Michigan USA) I agree with another reviewer that I thought Open Season 1 was avereage at best, not very funny, pretty cliched and corny. So when I read some negative reviews on Open Season 2 I didn't even bother renting it. But my kid chose this herself at the video store the other day, and I watched it with both my kids and I was totally impressed. This movie is pretty hilarious I think it's way better than the original. The plot is good and there's tons of jokes that all ages can enjoy. Some of the negative reviews mention that the original stars didn't return, that really makes no difference; Elliot and Boog sound the same. Elliot is especially good and all the other animals are hilarious. My kids laughed over and over at Mr. Weenie and the cat, Roger. We ended up watching it like 4 times before taking it back and I asked them if they liked Open Season 1 or 2 better and they both said "2" right away, and I totally agree.
fun movie for children and grandmas too April 28, 2009 Dian King (Kittanning, Pennsylvania USA) Open Season 2 was every bit as good as Open Season 1. Sometimes the second movie lacks something, but not this one. My grandson and I have movie night and we watch a new movie and eat grapes together...this movie held our attention and made us laugh alot. Excellent job
