    Product Description
A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL AND HER YOUNGER BROTHER FIND THEMSELVES IN A FOSTER HOME WITH A STRICT NO PETS POLICY, THEY MUST USE THEIR QUICK WIT TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOG, FRIDAY. THEY STUMBLE INTO AN ABANDONED HOTEL, WHERE THEY TRANSFORM IT INTO THE PERFECT PLACE FOR FRIDAY AS WELL AS OTHER STRAYS.

Everyone deserves a loving family, but foster kids Andi (Emma Roberts) and Bruce (Jake T. Austin) have been placed with a flaky couple who care more for their aspiring rock careers than their foster children. Even though Andi and Bruce's mischievous tendencies repeatedly get them into trouble, the siblings are essentially good kids who care deeply for one another and their secretly adopted dog Friday. After a close call with the local pound, the kids end up searching for Friday in an abandoned old hotel where they find several stray dogs seeking shelter. The kids' compassion for the homeless dogs compels them to begin caring for the strays and they soon join forces with three other local kids to take in strays from across the city. Bruce is a clever inventor whose innovative gadgets ensure top-notch care and constant entertainment for all the dogs (as well as a multitude of laughs from the audience). Unfortunately, Bruce's and Andi's devotion to the dogs eventually causes them to pass up what may be their last chance for a better foster home. When the police storm the hotel and take all the dogs to the pound, the kids make a daring attempt to rescue the dogs that will likely land them in separate group homes. Can social worker Bernie (Don Cheadle) somehow convince the authorities, and perhaps a loving family, that the children were just doing what was right? Hotel for Dogs is a funny family film based on Lois Duncan's book of the same name and is appropriate for most ages 5 and older in spite of its PG rating for mild thematic elements, language, and some crude humor. --Tami Horiuchi

5 out of 5 stars Hotel for Dogs   February 8, 2010
Student for Life (San Diego, CA)
I ended up purchasing this movie as a Christmas gift for my friend and her kids. Even though I had not seen it at the time of purchase I knew that the family had watched it numerous times on Video on Demand... paying $5 each time to watch it. That meant it had to be very good for mom and dad to continue to permit the kids to rent it (plus the mom, my friend, absolutely loved the movie as well). I was able to watch it after the holidays had settled. It was an adorable movie about 2 siblings in the foster system and their dog (who they have hidden from their present and previous foster parents over a 3 year period). It shows that we all need a family, and this includes animals... that is how the hotel for dogs came to be... finding strays before the ended up in the pound. There will be tears so have kleenex on hand.

5 out of 5 stars Best Movie Ever! By: Kiley Moe   February 8, 2010
I'm a major dog lover, so when I saw that a movie like Hotel for Dogs came out I rushed to go and see it.
Hotel for Dogs is about two orphans finding an abandoned hotel and saving all the stray dogs in town from the pound. They run into a few conflicts but manage to get past them with help from others!
Hotel for Dogs is for sure a good movie, filled with sad moments and happy moments. Amazing family movie!!! I give it four and a half stars!
My favorite scene or the funniest is when the two adults fall into the entire nasty dog poop!! This is very nasty!! Luckily, they were in bags.
The movie crew and cast did an amazing job dog training all the dogs. Training them to walk where they need to and when to bark or whine was just wonderful!!
This movie really brings out the dog lover in people. It also shows how SOME shelters treat dogs and other poor animals! It really made me take a step back and think about the poor animals and what they go through in this world!
WONDERFUL movie is all I have left to say!!!
