Amazon.com For a certain segment of the population, the vision of Halle Berry in shredded skin-tight leather is reason enough to see Catwoman. As Patience Philips, Berry plays a mousy graphic designer for a cosmetics company who learns a little too much about her employer's new beauty cream and gets flushed down a waste-disposal pipe. A supernatural cat brings Patience back to life and brings up a new persona from the depths of her psyche; soon she's bounding around fire escapes, cracking a whip, and getting framed for a couple of murders by a villainous ex-supermodel (Sharon Stone, Total Recall, Basic Instinct). If you're hoping for a Catwoman with bite, this is not your movie--this Catwoman rescues children from malfunctioning ferris wheels and apologizes for stealing jewels. The movie's script and visual style are as fresh as used kitty litter. Also featuring Benjamin Bratt (Miss Congeniality), and Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under). --Bret Fetzer

Too bad she won't make any more! March 9, 2010 Robert S. Arnold Jtr (Spring, Texs) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoyed this movie very much. She is a good actress in this sort of movie. It is a movie about a different kind of superhero which I like. (I'm an old comic book fan) Halle Berry has said ,as I understand it, that she won't make more because of the overly tight costume. While I can't really blame her for that, I think it's a shame!

Catwoman is a movie that has a dark elegance and stylish moves. I thought the visual effects were awesome and Halle did a great job at bringing Catwoman alive. This is a very fun and interesting movie.
Why does Amazon sell these kinds of films and make 1 star the lowest rating you can give? December 19, 2009 mr. snrub (Out there in La La Land) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
No, ladies and gentlemen, contrary to what the title may suggest, this is not the Catwoman of the DC comics Universe, the one true love of Batman, the leather clad anti-heroine strips Gotham City of of it's riches for the sheer thrill of it but who takes the opportunity to aid Batman in his battles against the Joker, Two-Face, and The Penguin, the female feline who can take a man's shirt off his back with her bullwhip without even cutting his skin.
No.
No, friends, THIS film deals with that other Catwoman, the one with the mouse-like mask that would embarrass even Joel Schumacher, the timid, shy, socially awkward secretary who gets flushed down the toilet by some evil henchmen of a makeup mongul and emerges with feline powers and better Capoeira skills than Lateef Crowder (that'll be the day.) The one who has no connection to anyone or anything in the DC universe nor anyone or anything cool, awesome, or even adequate.
Sigh.
Where the hell do I begin?
I know I probably won't win a lot of points for saying this, but to me, this is worse than BATMAN AND ROBIN. And that's probably the single most damning comment that can possibly be made about a comic book movie, so I'll leave it at it, but I will say that CATWOMAN, like BATMAN AND ROBIN, is a highly entertaining movie, but for all the wrong reasons. So bad, it's good!!!

The greatest movie experience ever November 28, 2009 Harrison Brock Schaerr (riverton utah) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Halle Berry cements herself as a world class actor with this oscar winning performance as a woman transformed into a cat, or, in other words, a cat-woman.
There can be no doubt, furries will love this interspecies love story about a young girl raised on a farm and then lost in a big city.
wow, I laughed, I cried, a masterpiece of epic proportions.
