Amazon.com The lightest of the first three films, Lethal Weapon 3 finds everyone occupying comfortable positions like students who always choose to sit in the same classroom seats. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return as LAPD partners whose working method consists of the former diving into danger and the latter holding back. (The sequence set in the parking garage of a building, in which Gibson inadvertently trips a switch that makes a timed explosive device speed up, is priceless.) Joe Pesci once again plays a motor-mouth pest, and while the story is pretty much forgettable, it does introduce the best new dynamic in the series, a romance between Gibson and Rene Russo's equally tough but attractive cop. --Tom Keogh

the boys are back and a girl January 26, 2010 Bertha Carrillo Lethal Weapon 3 comes fast and furious but mostly importantly it delights everyone with wisecracks, action, and camaderie. So if you want to continue with the buddy cops watch Lethal Weapon 3
Lethal Weapon 3 January 21, 2010 Arnita D. Brown (USA) Los Angeles police sergeant Roger Murtaugh and his partner, Sergeant Martin Riggs, arrest Billy Phelps for trying to rob an armored truck, this being just 8 days until Murtaugh is scheduled to retire. In the interrogation room, Billy is murdered by Lieutenant Jack Edward Travis, a vicious former cop who now sells guns that are stolen from evidence storage facilities. The investigation of Travis teams Riggs and Murtaugh up with Sergeant Lorna Cole of the Internal Affairs Division. Leo Getz, who is now a legitimate real estate agent, gets involved when he sees Travis's face on a paused videotape then says he recognizes Travis. Riggs finds himself falling in love with Lorna. Later, in a shootout against a street gang, Murtaugh kills a gangster who turns out to be Darrell Smithers, the best friend of Murtaugh's son Nick. A guilt ridden Murtaugh later tries to drink himself to death, but Riggs helps him realize that they must go after Travis, the man that Darrell's gun came from. Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, and Joe Pesci are back with director Richard Donner for the third installment of the Lethal Weapon Saga, this time joined by Rene Russo. Just like the first 2, this movie has plenty of comedy and a lot of amazing action. This is a very enjoyable adventure.
Lethal Weapon 3 June 26, 2009 George D. Seitz (Vermilion, OH) Mel Gibson's zany character contiues to interact well with his partner to present another fine episode in the Lethal Weapons series.
Riggs & Murtaugh are Back! March 23, 2009 Agustin E. Gonzalez (Lacey, Washington United States) Riggs and Murtaugh return in this director's cut of Lethal Weapon 3. Once again Riggs and Murtaugh have a difficult case and a great deal of property destruction ahead of them. Riggs continues his endless heckling of Rog without fail. Now Riggs pratically lives in Rog's house and Rog is going to retire, Not. The DVD is an excellent copy of the movie and adds several scenes that make the story flow better than in the original movie. The movie has a good blend of laughs, romance for Riggs, and drama as Rog comes to realize what his retirment means for him and Riggs who is now part of the family. A very enjoyable film and a welcome break from the darker harder edge that was seen in Leathal Weapon 2.
Russo Makes This One Two Stars December 28, 2008 Uncle Chino (New Zealand) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
They add Rene Russo to this movie to help us remember that Mullet Gibson is hetero sexual or at least to make us forget that the homoerotic love fest between he and Glover is strictly buddy buddy (yeah right). Mullet still hams it up with his tongue in cheek, wink wink, obnoxious Three Stooges gimmick and then they add Joe Pesci as a motormouth obnoxious cartoon character who actually gets on Mullets nerves though he can't see that his own stOOpid antics might make everybody else hate him as much as Pesci. This takes the Lethal Weapon franchise even further into funny book land and the movie suffers for it. It is more like Pesci, Gibson and Glover having a cutesy cutesy good time and letting the fans in on it than it is a good movie.
