Product Description Philo thinks hell retire from fighting. But a new contender lures him back and philos girl is kidnapped to ensure hell turn up for the showdown. Studio: Warner Home Video Release Date: 02/14/2006 Starring: Clint Eastwood Sondra Locke Run time: 114 minutes Rating: Pg Director: Buddy Van Horn
Amazon.com Philo Beddoe (Clint Eastwood) is back in this sequel to Every Which Way but Loose, once again brawling to make ends meet and just trying to manage his life with a crazy mother (Ruth Gordon), a dimwitted best friend (Geoffrey Lewis) and, of course, Clyde the Orangutan. He's had enough of this life, but when a mobster (Harry Guardino) comes along to make him an offer he can't refuse, Philo must use his wits as well as his fists to get himself out of yet another jam. The humor is thin and sporadic (though Gordon is in fine form), and Eastwood has since gone on to better things; but a film that features a brawl with a monkey and a motorcycle gang can't be all bad. --Robert Lane

Clint's 2nd Monkey Picture December 2, 2008 Follow-up to EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE -- WB's 2nd biggest box office grosser of 1978, behind the first Superman movie. This time Clint's Filo Bedoe tangles with professional street fighter Jack Wilson (B-movie Legend William Smith). Geoffrey Lewis returns as his brother, character actors John Quade, Roy Jensen and Bill Mckenny as members of the Black Widows. Good popcorn pic with a knock drag between Eastwood and Smith that rivals Wayne and MacLaglen in THE QUIET MAN. Title song, strangely enough, is a duet of Ray Charles and Clint Eastwood! Different orang in this movie as the other became too big to be pal-sized.
Very pleased with the shipping and product conditions: September 30, 2008 The DVD film came packaged together with another in great condition and I saw or found no flaws or defects at all. The shipping conditions were perfect look forward to doing more business with the individuals in the future.
Funniest Clint Eastwood Movie June 26, 2008 This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Along with Play Misty For Me, this is one of my favorite Eastwood films. Philo takes on a bare-knuckle fighter (hired by the Mafia), while he is being chased by those idiot bikers from the Black Widows.
Pure Entertainment November 15, 2007 Simply on an entertainment level I'd give this film five stars. However as either an ardent film buff or just a casual film watcher I have to be realistic. At best its four stars and I'm probably being generous giving it that. There are many better Clint Eastwood movies that are just as entertaining, especially amongst those that he directed.
Having said that both this film is very funny in places, and it IS great all round entertainment. Clint Eastwood and the rest of the cast do a fine job. William Smith as Jack Wilson is probably the other stand-out actor. He has the tremendous fight at the end of the film. However its the incredible Ruth Gordon as Ma, who won an Oscar in 1969, and was aged 84 when the film was made, that steals the film from the rest of the human cast. Clyde of course is the best actor!
Its worth mentioning that when the film was made Eastwood turned 50 years old. Boy does he look good for 50.
The DVD has no extras but its widescreen, and at the right price its well worth getting.
One of the worst films of all time. October 2, 2007 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Amazing that people like this terrible, badly acted, incredibly stupid film. But you can't argue with someone who laughs at something, I guess. The four people in our house couldn't take much of this film -- I stuck with it and watched it all the way through, just to see Clint Eastwood. The dialogue and acting are so bad that you have to take a break now and then for fear of losing too many brain cells all at once. I'm glad I recorded it from TV. It's now erased, and is just a memory.
