As the impresario behind gravity-defying Russian blockbuster Night Watch, it's inevitable that Hollywood would come calling for Timur Bekmambetov. With a studio budget and an international cast, including two Oscar winners, Timur cooks up a Hong Kong-styled actioner bursting with fast cars and big guns. Our unlikely hero is mild-mannered Chicago accountant Wesley Gibson (Atonement's James McAvoy), whose father died when he was a tot. Wesley never learned to stand up for himself, and his girlfriend, boss, and best buddy all take advantage until the seductive Fox (Angelina Jolie) rescues him from a sharpshooter named Cross (The Pianist's Thomas Kretschmann). After which, she whisks him away to a mansion on the edge of town to meet the other members of the Fraternity, where leader Sloan (Morgan Freeman) informs Wesley that Cross, a rogue agent, executed his father. Sloan believes Wesley has the goods to take him out, so he undergoes the Fraternity's brutal training regimen (Marc Warren and Common dish up some of the abuse). When he's ready, Sloan sends him out to fulfill his duty, but matters become complicated when Wesley finds out someone isn't telling the truth, leading our former milquetoast to exact an elaborate revenge. For those who've been following McAvoy's career to date, Wanted will surely come as a surprise. The movie was not half bad. Very UNREALISTIC in EVERYTHING. Jolie is beautiful to watch and the action scene were shot great. The story line, on the other hand, was o.k. Watch just for the action shots.

First off, I don't get why people keep thinking this movie is "Cheesy" or "campy". THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT. This film is meant to be over-the-top and cheesy. If you can't tell from the opening scene where the assassin flies from one building to another and shooting 3 people in the process, you obviously are dumb and uninformed. This was meant to be a satire of most action movies that are over the top.
On top of that, I saw this film in the theater on Canada Day and it was amazing. One of the year's best action movies! I loved every minute and just didn't want it to end. The over the top action, the sultriness, the cool story and great special effects were enough to satisfy me. The movie is filled to the brim with great action scenes, blood, and Angelina Jolie- That's a sign for a good moviegoing experience. And now today, watching it again on DVD for a second time was a good time again.
So Wesley Gibson (McAvoy) is a depressed office worker. He feelss useless, his boss is treating him like [...] and his girlfriend is cheating on him. He has constant anxiety attacks and feels he has no purpose in life. Ready to give up, a very sexy assassin named Fox (Jolie) steps in and gives him something to live for: The Fraternity, a clan of assassins. This gives him a chance to escape his depressing life and job, and this leaves him one task: Kill the man who killed his father.
THis movie is awesome- it's bloody, sexy, and action packed. McAvoy gives a great perofmance, Angelina is HOT and looks incredibly bad[...] with the tattos. Anyone looking for a fun time should watch this movie!

I didn't know this film was so crazy. It reminds me of Chinese Action/Fantasy films. After all the attempts, this film gives you that 'nutty' mix of serious 'ballistic action, gore, romantic fantasy, comedic, time shifting characters with a destiny' story that the West has been trying to replicate.
The Blu-Ray A/V quality is the best so far, and more so. System threatening sound.

Not a great movie but an entertaining action movie. Recommended and worth seeing if you like action and special effects. Again nobody gives a great performance but overall the acting was acceptable. If you are looking for realism or a strong plot then probably not for you.
I looked at some of the negative reviews and obviously some people missed the point of this movie. The point is entertainment! This movie is based on a comic book! It is not a documentary! One reviewer was looking for "genuine emotion"? They should have done more research before seeing the movie.
