Product Description For the past several decades, two months out of every year, truckers in the Canadian tundra carry vital equipment to remote outposts located hundreds of miles north. The mission is to transport thousands of loads before the road disappears.
Continuing this successful series, our truckers will venture to a new road - one that is actually located inside the Arctic Circle. The road is comprised of hills that resemble rollercoasters, journeys over ice, and even includes a 120-mile stretch over open ocean. Over the course of the season, the series will examine the building of the ice road (which includes an ice bridge), and will also follow road maintenance crews as they struggle to keep the road safe and operable in sub zero temperatures.
It is a race against the elements, against time, and against each other. The series will continue to examine this time honored profession that dates back almost a century, often through generations of families.

Ice Road Truckers should have ended with Season One! November 16, 2008 Glenn M. Schoditsch (Richmond, Virginia) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Season One of Ice Road Truckers was a unique query into the phenomena of "At The Top of The World" ice road trucking. An eclectic group of ice road drivers, the bleeped out language, interaction between drivers and the sheer "man vs the elements" made for quite an enjoyable series. Season Two was a bit of a disappointment. The weeks depicting the gas drill rig being moved and reassembled was good but watching week after week of Hugh "The Polar Bear" driving a waste truck, Rick transporting dirty snow and Drew delivering candy & soda just killed the novelty of the whole series. And there will be a 3rd season? I'll be taking a pass on Season Two!
Entertaining October 24, 2008 Amy L. Butler 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I got this for my husband for a Christmas gift. It is pretty entertaining. It is mostly just "fluff" T.V., but watching some of these guys whine and cry cracks me up. The ice road itself is pretty amazing. When it starts melting, I don't know how these guys keep driving on it to get in their last loads... Overall, I would recommend it.
