Buyer Beware!!! August 8, 2008 vonfukenstein Beware! I just got my copies of both "I Was A teenage Caveman" and "The Day The World Ended" (both "Creature Features"). I haven't even watched them yet and I'm already PO'ed. Both came in clear snap cases with NO COVERS / NO ARTWORK!! As a collector, I am APPALLED. Inside the package there is a note from a company called kellie@norampartners.com which says, "NorAm sells over 750,000 used DVDs a year that are overstock from national retailers. We put the DVD's in new durable clear cases so you can see the DVD inside, and we list them as VERY GOOD, clearly saying in the seller notes the condition as "NO ARTWORK, NEW CLEAR CASE". We make every effort to make this known before our customers make a purchase, but sometimes the notes get overlooked. We are sorry if you accidentally purchased this without artwork. Rest assured you have a great quality, original studio release." Little consolation in that you don't get this note until your DVDs ARRIVE! So I went back to the ads for both movies. There is NOTHING listed under "Condition" anywhere to be found in the actual ads for either movie. So I decided to walk through purchasing another copy under the list of "used" sellers. I found the seller I purchased them from and sure enough there is a small notation about it JUST AS YOU ARE ABOUT TO CLICK THE PURCHASE BUTTON! You might miss it? You will DEFINITELY miss it! Why do you think they have to print up this note with each package sent out? And you know what? It's a 4-color 2-sided note on glossy 6 point stock - the same as a COVER! They could have RE-PRINTED the covers for the same amount of printing these lame "excuses". AND... at the VERY LEAST, they could give you a link with the cover art so that YOU could download it and print it yourself. Just... BEWARE... and look closely before you press that "purchase" button.

This is one abysmal, pathetically boring film. In it a tribe of "teenage cavemen" discover a few monstrous hedonists living with modern conveniences. They are taken in by it all, a girl explodes while fondling herself, people turn into rubber monsters, etc. Other than this, the film really has no plot. Unjaded viewers might find the film offensive or shocking -- jaded viewers however will simply take it as further evidence that LARRY CLARK IS A PEDOPHILE!! Some people think his movies are bold. I do not. Bold films have points to them. Sorry Larry.
With Power Comes Silly Hairstyles March 4, 2006 Joshua Koppel (Chicago, IL United States) 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Another of the Creature Feature movies that takes old movies and comes up with a new plot for the old title. This one concerns the primitive living conditions of the human survivors after civilization is destroyed by violent storms. Despite the harsh conditions and the struggle to survive, the teenagers seem to have plenty of leisure time to plan rebellion and break the rules. After one altercation a small band of teens heads out into the wilderness and discover the remains of a city. Suddenly they find themselves guests of a strange pair of teens who seem to have all of the power and resources they need. The leader of the strange teens, sporting a silly-looking top-knot, seduces the group with music, food, technology and comfort. Later, he and the female of the pair also seduce the group with sex. It is after the orgy that the viewer starts to get an idea of what is going on and what secrets are being kept. This is a horror movie, so people start dying for various reasons until the inevitable final struggle. Then we have a new leader emerge who also decides to suddenly sport the silly-looking top-knot. A final scene helps to tie up the loose ands and leaves the view wondering what will happen next to the characters. I have watched all of the Creature Feature films and this is the worst. Really bad acting combines with a poorly written script and almost nonexistent special effects. Plenty of nudity and sex are thrown in but it all just results in a silly mess. If seeing a bunch of teens being wild, silly and uncontrolled is your bag then you might be interested in this one. Otherwise you will probably want to pass this one by.
The Real Larry Clark reveals himself... February 27, 2006 Jim Reed (New York) 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
Don't expect good horror or sci-fi here as Larry Clark concentrates primarily on sex scenes. For years he's made sleazy films like Kids and Bully under the guise of teaching people a lesson about the youth of today. With no moral lessions to hide behind in Teenage Caveman it's crystal clear what REALLY intersts Clark the most. This movie may appeal to some in a guilty pleasure way but the "plot" padded out with sleaze is awful.
