Product Description Former superhero jack is called back to work to transform an unlikely group of ragtag kids into superheroes at a private academy. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 05/27/2008 Starring: Tim Allen Chevy Chase Run time: 88 minutes Rating: Pg
Amazon.com The bright colors and simple stories of classic superhero comics are the template for Zoom--none of that moody, bleak X-Men nonsense here. Retired superhero Captain Zoom (Tim Allen, The Shaggy Dog) gets pulled out of mothballs when the government decides to assemble a new team of super-powered kids. The motley quartet includes a herculean little girl (Ryan Newman), an invisible slacker (Michael Cassidy, The O.C. ), a telekinetic hot chick (Kate Mara, 24), and a chunky lad whose body inflates to enormous size (Spencer Breslin, The Cat in the Hat, The Kid). But Zoom has lost his super-speed and gained a cynical chip on his shoulder; will he regain his faith in heroes in time to battle an impending menace? There's nothing original about Zoom, but the engaging cast--which also includes Courteney Cox (Friends), Kevin Zegers (Transamerica), and Rip Torn (Men in Black, Forty Shades of Blue)--could have given some pep to a competent formulaic script. Unfortunately, they were saddled with this one. But the saddest aspect of Zoom is the sight of Chevy Chase (Foul Play, Fletch) trying to muster a scrap of his lost talent. --Bret Fetzer Stills from Zoom (click for larger image) Beyond Zoom at Amazon.com The Book, Amazing Adventures From Zoom's Academy | Superheroes on DVD | Other Family Films Adapted from Books |

Better than 'Sky High' December 5, 2008 M. Scarlett This was quite a good film, made better by Courtney Cox (friends), Chevy Chase (fletch, vacation movies) and Rip Torn (men in black). Tim Allen does O.K. in this film as well. The plot is a bit cheesy, but the characters make up for that. A good (cheap) entertaining film. The only thing that let it down slightly, was the wooden acting by the super hero's (kids). In that way, Sky High is better. But overall, i prefer Zoom!
Zoom November 24, 2008 K. Marlow I think this is a great family show with a little (clean romance) and fun action
more action and less talking September 24, 2008 Joan D. Dodson (Htfd . Ct.) the movie was good when the action was going on and boring when they were talking if they had more action and less talking this movie would be very good.
Zoom Review August 18, 2008 kea 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a great family movie. It was full of action and great special effects. Kids would love to watch it over and over again. Good choice for family viewing.
Only for Ryan Newman August 13, 2008 M. McFarland The only stand-out performance is the young and adorable Ryan Newman. Everything else is blah and forgettable. So if you're a fan of RN watch it for her scenes, otherwise just don't. Seriously.
